24-hour in-patient and emergency cover

As a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Tier 3 practice & British Small Animal Veterinary Association accredited hospital, our Welwyn Garden City premises are staffed 24-hours a day 365 days of the year. This allows us to provide the highest levels of in-patient care as well as prompt attention to any emergencies outside of normal working hours. All of this is provided by our staff, who have full access to patients clinical history regardless of which of our sites they usually visit. It also means that in an emergency this vital service is provided at our usual premises with ample free parking. Not all practices offer this service to their clients and may chose to use a third party located off their premises to provide out of hours cover.

Vaccination

We recommend that your animals are vaccinated on an annual basis to help provide immunity against the major diseases commonly affecting dogs and cats.

Whilst many of the fatal diseases which were commonly seen a few years ago are now rare, they still pose a significant risk. There have been several outbreaks of Canine Parvo Virus in Hertfordshire in recent months, whilst the Cat Flu viruses are always present amongst the feral cat population. Myxomatosis is a constant threat to pet rabbits.

Yearly vaccinations are required to keep the immunity topped up, and this also provides us with an opportunity to give your pet a health check and general MOT! We also offer kennel cough and rabies vaccinations.
